我们推出的字体版本是电脑从七千多页的《康熙字典武英殿版本》自动化切割字头制作而成的。
我们仔细的计算了康熙字头字收，总收字是47403个，虽借用电脑的自动切割可省下好多时间，但也要人工手动去翻七千多页的《康熙字典武英殿版本》作字头与古文筛选及删掉多馀的字头图片，流程大致如下：
１）系统自动OCR版面切割并取出每一页面的字头图片
２）手动把多馀的字头图片删掉
３）手动定义古文字头
４）系统自动排序字头图片
５）加入字序／Unicode
６）完成后即可点按字头图片取得文本内容及制作康熙字体等古籍数字化工作

康熙字体采用的电脑格式是 .TTF ，TTF 是业界标准的字体格式，可以安装在WIndows、Mac、Linux 等电脑系统。
关于收字范围，常用版收字有约9000字，扣除因简转繁的重复字后有约7000个康熙字，收字主要参考《规范汉字表》及《繁体常用字表》，同时收字是在CJK基本汉字集內。
傳承版收字约49000字，扣除因简转繁的重复字后是47043个康熙字，也就是康熙字头的完整收字。其实康熙字头也有约80多个重复字，康熙字体采用Unicode 15 字集，没有使用造字。康熙字典收字和Unicode 的编码是有少许不同之处及争议的，尤其在Unicode 收字原则、异体字等方面，无论如何目前康熙字典采用Unicode做编码及数字化仍是最佳的选𪭲。
为方便大家使用康熙字典体，已识简化字者也可以学习传统汉字，使用本字体可以输入简体取得繁体字，如果有些生僻字无法输入，请使用《康熙字典网上版》查字，如果需要直接输入47043汉字，建议使用仓颉输入法。
简转繁面对简繁一对多时会有错用的繁体字，简化字在收字8105个《规范汉字表》也大约收字二千余字，如果康熙已有收录的简化字（康熙年代不叫简化字，可能是正字、俗字或异体字等）一概不转繁体字，如丑、与、还等字。
康熙字典也有避讳字，如玄、燁二字等关联字，我们會逐步修正之，目前玄、燁二字已修正。
至于康熙字典里未收的现代常用汉字，字体会自动选用相同意义的汉字，如你、教等字康熙字典未收，会自动选用伱、敎；至于完全沒有相同意义之字，如常用字：乒、乓二字康熙字典未收，目前就暂不处理，这类字虽不多，但属于常用字范围，以后有时间会一一编字进去。（更新：2022.12.13 后的傳承版本已逐步增加康熙字典未收的常用字）
